The next webinar in the acclaimed leaders in project delivery series is on Effective Benefits Management. The webinar will be a discussion on how organisations can effectively plan and realise benefits at project, programme and portfolio level. The following sub-topics among others will be addressed by the panel:

Panellists:
Grant Avery
Grant is one of New Zealand’s leading project management and PMO maturity practice consultants. He is international co-author of the Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3®v3) (the only author of that model based outside the UK). Grant’s PMO consulting work focusses on matching PMO development advice to the context and culture of the organisations they serve.
Grant has been selected 6 times by PMI to speak at their annual PMO symposiums held in the USA and his award winning book “Project Management, Denial, and the Death Zone” (JRoss Publishing Inc. 2016) was PMI International’s Book of the Month for March 2016. In 2017 Grant was awarded Risk Management Professional of the Year by RiskNZ for his work in project risk management.
Grant has been a licensed PMP since 2001, has an MBA with Distinction from Victoria University of Wellington, and is principle consultant for Outcome Insights, an MBIE All-of-Government panel-listed projects, programmes, and portfolios assurance services provider.
Malcolm Savage
Malcolm is one of New Zealand’s leading experts in Portfolio/Programme Management Offices (PMOs) and is a Head of EPMO at Auckland Council. Malcolm has previously been Principal Consultant at Sentient PPM, and Manager of Air New Zealand’s Enterprise PMO where he successfully implemented and then managed the EPMO for 12 years, with a Portfolio spanning multiple functions including Property, Engineering, Airports, Digital, Aircraft inductions and more. His background spans New Zealand, South Africa, the UK and the USA. He has project managed large projects, run a professional services team, and has designed and implemented PPM tools, and Portfolio, Governance, Benefits and Project Methodology frameworks.
Malcolm is a recognised speaker and MC, and has spoken on a variety of PMO topics at National and International events.
Malcolm is a founding member and Co-Chair of the Auckland PMO forum. He is also a PMI Judge for PMO of the Year, and PMO Global Awards 2020 and 2021 Judging Committee.
Michelle Liles
Michelle is an experienced EPMO advisor with a history of working in the government administration industry. Her passion for the last five years has been benefits management and realisation. This has seen her contract at various agencies across Wellington sharing her enthusiasm for benefits while working to uplift capability.
Originally from the UK, Michelle has been in Wellington for 15 years and loves the life and friends she has made here.
Nicola Faithfull
Nicola has held senior project and technology leadership roles in large companies here and in the UK and run her own small consulting company. Nicola joined the PMINZ Board in September 2019 and is responsible for policy review, the constitution review, and dispute resolution processes, ensuring alignment to PMI global as well as New Zealand legislation. She is also a Chartered member of the Institute of Directors and an active member of the Auckland PMO Forum.
Nicola is passionate about developing a positive high performing culture and supporting others to reach their potential. She is head of the University of Auckland’s Strategic Programme Office, an enterprise level PMO that supports portfolio definition, formation and delivery of programmes and projects formation, and benefit realisation.
Sam Farid
Sam Farid is an established PMO Manager with over 15 years’ experience in business transformation and technology change. He carries a genuine passion for all things project management, with focus on leadership and ensuring PMOs maximize value and returns for the business through effective project, program and portfolio delivery. He holds an MBA in Strategic Management, Diploma in Project Management and is a PMP® certified member of the PMI New Zealand Chapter. Sam currently leads the Global IT PMO at Fonterra, supporting the delivery of a multi-million-dollar portfolio for New Zealand’s largest dairy co-operative. Through his previous roles, Sam has led a number of transformation initiatives that involved establishing and uplifting maturity of PMOs to deliver strategic value for the business. Sam has spoken at a number of conferences including the PMI annual conference in New Zealand and recently the PMO Symposium in Denver, Colorado.
Kosam Nyamdela
Kosam is a project management professional and business leader. He has taken part in and led several successful large transformation projects and programs in broadcasting engineering, telecommunications and other business forms over more than 30 years. In all his years of experience, Kosam has successfully trained, coached and mentored tradespeople, technicians, engineers, project management professionals, students and executives in technical, business and leadership skills. He holds an MBA – Strategic Planning from Heriot Watt University, Scotland and a Masters in Professional Business Analysis at Victoria University of Wellington. Kosam is a Chartered Fellow at the Institute of Managers and leaders, Australia and New Zealand and also holds chartered manager status with the Chartered Management Institute, UK. Kosam is the immediate past president of PMINZ and currently a teaching fellow at Victoria University.
Kosam is the owner and founder of Global Consultants Limited which specialises in helping organisations bridge the gap between strategy and implementation.
