Project management in New Zealand – the now and the future

Please note that this event will be in Room GBLT1 at the Pipitea Campus of Victoria University (aka Old Government Buildings). The entrance is on Bunny Street.

Rapid advances in technology are influencing changes in traditional approaches to everything. Project management is as equally affected and questions like the ones below are spinning in people’s heads:

What is the current state of project management in New Zealand?

  • If project management is a systematic approach, how come there are so many failures? And who determines success criteria?
  • Is Agile taking over? And what is agile and Agile? Is there such a thing as a purely Agile project?
  • What is the career progression to get into project management and what comes after? Do certifications matter?

What will the future of project management hold?

  • In five years from now, will the term project management still be relevant? How could project management look like in 2024? Will it be more successful?
  • What will be the next big project management trends? How will they shape the future of the project management profession?
  • Which skills would dominate the project management world? Is the business community ready for this? What about academia?

Do you want to know the answer to these and many more, including your own nagging questions? If you are already in the project management profession in any capacity, are aspiring to enter into the profession, a student, are an employer for project managers or just interested in knowing what the profession is all about, join us from 5pm for a 5.45pm start. The session will run to 7pm with 30 minutes of networking to end.
