Project Portfolio Management master class
Influencing the weather?

In this master class, Stephen will rpovide an overview of the key factors that need to be addressed if we are to do the 'right' projects and do them 'right', and so realise the full potential benefits from our investments in change.

The course outline follows (and expands on) the structure of MoP:
1. Overview – what is Project Portfolio Management, what's the case for doing it, what's the track record, and what are the main obstacles to success?
2. Portfolio Management Principles – the foundations on which efficient and effective portfolio management practices are based.
3. Portfolio Definition Cycle (‘doing the right projects’) – ensuring the portfolio represents the optimum use of available resources in terms of delivering the greatest contribution to the strategic objectives, subject to consideration of risk/achievability, resource constraints and cost/affordability.
4. Portfolio Delivery Cycle (‘doing projects right’) – ensuring the portfolio is successfully implemented, adapts to changes in the strategic objectives, project and programme delivery, and lessons learned.
5. Where to start and how to sustain progress.
