The Project Management Reality in a SaaS Start Up

Ember Technology’s mission is to do more than our fair share to make NZ a better place to live. For no other reason, it set out in 2020 to be net carbon zero. In the second year of certification, Chris became grumpy at how long it took to gather the audit data and searched unsuccessfully for an automation platform. So, he gave his software devs one month to build a solution and, as word spread, the project evolved into a full-scale commercial start up. After less than a year, GreenHalo was launched as a marketing leading product for NZ businesses. It automates the draw, reporting and auditing of carbon emissions data with companies such as ANZCO, Ryman Health and Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce using the platform. ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Chris Bailey is a Board Advisor to Millpond, which delivers project management training and services, and he has a Diploma in Project Management alongside other degrees. He is the co-founder of GreenHalo, a software platform to automate the draw, reporting and auditing of carbon emissions data. He is a co-owner of Ember Technology, which delivers data, software development, artificial intelligence and IT support to over 300 enterprise and SME clients. Chris also co-owns Cactus Outdoor, Albion Clothing and is an independent director with Network Waitaki and Queenstown Medical Centre. He has worked with over 100 clients as a leadership development coach following a 16-year career in high performance sport
