Call for nominations

The Elections and Nominating Committee is calling for the nomination of candidates to join the Board of Directors and become the Chapter leaders and key influencers in the governance and planning of the future direction of PMINZ.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to bring their own professional experience and expertise to the Chapter whilst developing themselves professionally.

Candidates are sought for the following four roles:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Central Branch Chair
  • South Island Branch Chair

Note: Under PMI rules all Chapter members are eligible to both nominate a candidate for a Branch Chair role and vote in any Branch Chair elections regardless of their geographic location within the Chapter.

Candidate criteria

The criteria are general and some roles may require specific experience and skills.

Candidates should ideally have a background, experience, or sound knowledge in some of the following:

  1. Project, programme or portfolio management
  2. Knowledge of PMI and/or PMINZ functions
  3. Strategic planning
  4. Senior management
  5. Board or Governance
  6. Financial literacy
  7. Volunteering or Leadership

See either the Candidate Nomination Acceptance & Eligibility Form or the Elections and Nominating Committee Policy for some examples of skills and experience related to the seven criteria above.

Election rules

Chapter members are reminded that in accordance with PMINZ rules:

  • Only the Election and Nominating Committee may distribute election materials for PMINZ elected positions.
  • No funds or resources of PMI Global or PMINZ may be used to support or negatively impact the election of any candidate.
  • No campaign materials of any kind may be used to promote a candidate.
  • No other type of organized electioneering, canvassing, communications, fund-raising or other activities by or on behalf of a candidate is permitted.
  • Any potential breach of these rules can be investigated by the Elections and Nominating Committee as an election anomaly.

Submitting a nomination

1. Download the 2018 file Nominations Information Pack.zip file. 

2. Send the following items to the Elections and Nominating Committee at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 8pm, Friday 22 June 2018.

  1. One 2018 Candidate Nomination Form, completed, signed and dated by a nominator.
  2. A completed 2018 Candidate Nomination Acceptance & Eligibility Form. Candidates must answer all questions.
  3. A completed 2018 Candidate Profile and Election Statement (a maximum of 250 words per section).
  4. A recent colour head and shoulders digital photograph of the candidate (as a jpeg file).
  5. A copy of the candidate’s current CV (in either MS Word or PDF format).

Elections and Nominating Committee

The Elections and Nominating Committee was appointed by the PMINZ Board in accordance with the PMINZ Constitution. The Terms of Reference under which the Committee operates can be found in the Elections and Nominating Committee Policy, Section 4.0.

The 2018 Elections and Nominating Committee members are:
